or it should be atleast!

On a sunny Saturday afternoon, I am at Main Street Cafe at a barstool by the window watching the world go by and having this for breakfast:

It's so good, it should be offered as one's last meal. It's the Bistro-Baked French Toast and its excellent. It's topped with fresh cut strawberries, powdered sugar and maple syrup.

What?!! I just got my wisdom tooth pulled out last week and ever since then I have been living on a soup diet. This is my FIRST real meal since then, and it was the right choice.

I watched SHOOTER recently and it was a good movie. I liked it. It wasn't the greatest action film, but worth paying 6 bucks for. I also watched 300, and a lot of people compare it to the Gladiator. I beg to differ. I thought the graphics were excellent, but the story was poor and the film didn't really live up to my expectations really. I didn't like the blunt ending. It left me with a "That was it??" expression. Maybe I wanted more. Oh well.

I leave here now and will post more later. Have a fun weekend, readers!

All I gotta say is "WoW". I absolutely love action flicks and this one seems to be looking good.

Another one I am looking forward to watch is SHOOTER with Mark Wahlberg.

For a while now Google has let you personalize your homepage so that when ever you open your browser, you get your requested data and feeds. Until now, Google has offered this in the classic Google theme which is the white background and the Google logo.

However, Google just came up with a set of banners or themes that you could apply to your personal Google homepage. The banners that are available to choose are Beach, Bus Stop, City Scape, Sweet Dreams, Tea House and Seasonal Scape.

These banners are dynamic in the sense that once you select your desired theme, Google then asks you to identify your location via City, State or ZIP code, which it then uses to dynamically match the time of day associated with that banner. I think this is pretty nifty.

Here's a screenshot of my Beach theme:

In the NBC show "The Office", one of the characters explains that every office environment has that someone who does something so stupid and then for the next few years is remembered and talked about in different conversations by just that stupid act, like "You know that guy who accidentally dropped and broke that expensive projector" OR "Remember that dude who was running in the hallway and crashed into the VP and broke his nose".

Well see, what happened today was I went out to lunch with Karla at Fadi's and we ordered the sampler, which is really huge. I couldn't even eat the chicken breast strips that I had ordered - infact didn't even touch them. So Karla decided to pack 'em and and take it to go. We were in her Lexus; She was driving, and I was holding the to-go container. We make a quick run to the post office coz she had to deliver a package. As we park, I notice that her leather seat that I am sitting in is wet, and not just wet, but dripping wet. I am like WTF is that? In a second we realize that the to-go container I was holding was leaking and all that chicken broth in the container was spilling on that plush Lexus leather, and worse - MY PANTS!!

At this point I am so unbelievably embarrassed and she just couldn't stop laughing. You would literally just hear giggles and bursts of laughter all the way back to work. I tell her "Ok, you go get my keys from my desk while I sit my butt here in your car"

She comes back with my keys...I step into my car...drive off and come back after changing into my jeans. So basically I am now one of those guys. I admit now that in this office, I am the guy who wet his pants with chicken broth!

ONE

I want to take a few moments out and speak about the 'ONE' campaign. You may have noticed the diagonal banner on my blog on the top-left corner.

This is a campaign put in place to make poverty history. This will require a huge undertaking, wouldn't it? If it were only as simple as Miss Universes' and Miss Worlds' chanting the "World Peace" mantra. But it is surely more than that. Extreme issues and unbelievable hardships are probably the gateway to poverty. Not to mention, if along the road there aren't any people helping because of society's lack of concern for people with dire need or if there is absolutely no money to feed oneself and family, poverty is seen on the horizon, I guess.

The 'ONE' campaign is committed to life-long support, help and to find more help to battle issues such as AIDS, Extreme Poverty, Corruption, unhealthy water, lack of food & housing, etc that surrond those who are unfortunate and stuck with these problems in third-world countries.

According to their website: "The ONE Campaign is an effort by Americans to rally Americans – one by one – to fight the emergency of global AIDS and extreme poverty. ONE is students and ministers, punk rockers and NASCAR moms, Americans of all beliefs and every walk of life, united to help make poverty history.

The ONE Campaign derives its name from the belief that allocating an additional one percent of the U.S. budget toward providing basic needs like health, education, clean water and food would transform the futures and hopes of an entire generation in the world's poorest countries. We also call for debt cancellation, trade reform and anti–corruption measures in a comprehensive package to help Africa and the poorest nations beat AIDS and extreme poverty."

Recent members of the ONE campaign are:

1. Chris Dodd (D - CT)
2. Gordon Smith (R - OR)
3. John Kerry (D - MA)
4. Barbara Mikulski (D - MD)
5. Sherrod Brown (D - OH)
6. Blanche Lincoln (D - AK)
7. Daniel Akaka (D - HA)
8. Ted Kennedy (D - MA)
9. Olympia Snowe (R - ME)
10. Richard Burr (R - NC)
11. Hillary Clinton (D - NY)
12. Herb Kohl (D - WI)
13. Richard Durbin (D - IL)
14. Patrick Leahy (D - VT)
15. Carl Levin (D-MI)
16. Joe Lieberman (I - CT)
17. Russ Feingold (D - WI)
18. Jeff Bingaman (D - NM)
19. Barbara Boxer (D - CA)
20. Barack Obama (D - IL)
21. Mary Landrieu (D - LA
22. Tom Harkin (D - IA)

When I started blogging with the plain black Minima template offered by Blogger, I liked it. I did wnat to change a few things around, but instead before I could do that I kept on adding so much junk and links on it that it started to look very clustered and full of useless information. I knew I wanted to change the look and feel of the blog and make it much more simple.

So here it is! I didn't want to completely stray away from the black look, so I downloaded Thurs Black template, but then added a touch of blue which compliments the banner I put up.

I dusted out a lot of information - as you can see, there are no newsroom links or links to other tech blogs, since I didn't get any high clicks on those. So all that's left is a simple, well-laid out and a structured 3 column blog. I have plans for the added column.

Now that I have spent hours in redesigning this template, I have other styling things in store for this blog which I will launch in 'micro-releases' (A word we use often at work).

So readers - give me feedback and suggestions.

WWE: Mediaplayer Battle of the Billionaires Contract Signing

If you haven't already heard, there is a big hoopla going on about how Donald Trump challenged Vince McMahon, chairman of WWE to a "head-shaved-off" match at WrestleMania. I quit watching WWE about 5 years ago. After guys like Stone Cold The Rock left, I didn't really watch it at all. But wait, whaddaya know. Stone Cold Steve Austin is the guest referee for this match. The match basically goes like this - If Vince McMahon's appointed wrestler, Umaga, wins against Donald Trump's appointed wrestler, Lashley, then Trump will have to have his head shaved off and vice-versa.

All of Hollywood has been talking about this. Trump likes to stay in the news. He likes the attention. He clearly is using his name to help Vince's falling reputation. Of course all this is just a show in the end. But one of them will have to have their head shaved off and that's the bottom line.

Watch The Rock's comments on the battle here. (03:20)

Watch Trump kick Vince McMahon's ass in the ring - like he said he would. (04:39)

I compeletely forgot to mention about the new toy I just got. Recently, my cell phone's antenna broke into 2 halves. I didn't drop it. And no..I didn't hold it by it's antenna and swivel it around in the air. I did however have a habit of shoving that phone into my jeans' pockets. So over time, it just cracked and broke.

Now my Sprint contract has expired since November last year, and I want to sign-on with another provider. I hate Sprint. It's sad because I was hoping to use this phone until the new iPhone is available which I am dying to get once it is available (and I won't get it retail...I am NOT going to spend 600 bucks on a phone).

Anyways, so I walk over to the Telecom dept to see if I can get a phone from them. I thought that they may have one or two old basic phones laying around since they constantly work with Sprint.

And they gave me this:

I am absolutely loving this. I got my email sync'd , I got my web apps, I got my calendar sync'd, I got my media files, ez keyboard messaging. So there - I showed it off.

Here's more

I have been out of sight for a while now. I just haven't had the chance to blog, and if I did, I was just tired and being lazy about posting.

Work has kept me quite busy the past couple of weeks. I have been working my butt off and the number of tasks keep increasing. I am not complaining about it...I think its good that I am learning different processes almost everyday.

I attended Microsoft's "Ready for a New Day" launch tour for a day at the Dallas Convention Center. This was an all day event with Microsoft showing off its Windows Vista OS, Exchange Server 2007, Office 2007 and Sharepoint 2007. I must say that I am pretty impressed. They are surely making it much easier for the general office workforce.

I had a redux of the up-all-night syndrome for 2 nights in a row...and when I say that, I mean ALL night! This was again to help a good friend about some work project that had to be completed. After the first night up and then going to work, I was in a really crappy mood...I tried to keep up with being cool and not displaying the "zombie-ness" and the shitty mood I was in.

Then staying up for another night, I just couldn't go to work. I was way too exhausted. So I let my team know I wasn't able to come to work and I thought I'd sleep in, but then I got emails...more tasks..things that had to be done, and since it is my job, I must finish them, else I can't rest.

So finally I got done knocking off stuff by 8PM. This was Day 3 and at this point I just felt absolutely numb. I didn't feel sleepy, but I also didn't want to stay awake. I wasn't paying attention to anything...and I didn't care that I wasn't. Being up like that for 3 consecutive days makes you not give a shit about what's going on around you. I didn't give a damn who I spoke with, what I was saying, if I was rude...whatever it was...I just didn't care. Finally pillowed in at 10PM....and I must tell you..It was the best sleep I have had yet. And then today was just like any other Friday.

For lunch today, Karla, Jennifer and I went to Luna De Noche at North Park Mall plus they had to return/exchange/purchase stuff, so I strolled over to Macy's and saw this awesome Calvin Klein jacket that was on clearance and had been marked down from 600 bucks to 150. I can't find a link to it, but I WANT it. I really badly want it...but I think I am going to let responsible-celluloids and stubborn-celluloids in my brain talk it out first. The outcome of that meeting will be the ultimate deciding factor.

Anyhoos, I am now home and am excited coz I get to see the my nephew and niece tomorrow as they come back from Dubai after being gone for 6 weeks. I can't wait to play around with them again. They will surely light up my weekend.

Oh Karla sent me a link to this blog about celebrity screwups. Check it out: Sarah X Dylan's Blog

I think that's all I have for now. I may have left out a few things but if I remember them, I'll post 'em randomly.

Okay, so I know I haven't posted in a while. The re-designing of this blog is taking longer than I thought even though I just want to make subtle changes and clean up the look a little bit. But Blogger, why you gotta do me like that?

What the hell? Where on this blog do you see 'spam charecteristics'? How in the world do you think I am NOT a human? This is crazy. I guess they are doing this to clean up the internet of all the auto-spam blogs that are out there just clogging up their servers and the web in parallel.

So I guess you won't see this post for 2 days. Anyways, I'll write more about what I have been doing and thinking since the last time I posted.
