So now at the airport, waiting to board the plane. I got here early...really early, thinking its going to be packed as passengers travel for the holidays. Adding to that, it's Monday. So the folks that aren't traveling could be going to work, which means rush hour. Surprisingly though, there was no traffic whatsoever, and the airport is as dead as it has ever been..but then again, who's flying on NWA to go to Minneapolis? I think the rush and the long lines are at other terminals...especially AA.
Now that I have some time to kill, I am satisfying my hunger here at TGI Friday's. Hold on..my phone's buzzing..
Back...Just got a facebook message from a KK that we are looking to arrange a limo on NYE night, that's going to pick up friends from 3 or 4 cities, and there's about 10 - 15 people. SUPER!! As KK said, this means "no one is driving drunk, worrying about parking fees or walking in the cold, and we arrive and depart the party scene(s) in style..." KK - try to make this happen.
Alright, food's getting cold, so I'll see y'all later.

Tams sent me pictures as a preview of what to expect when I go to Minneapolis for the holidays in 2 days. I like what I see. Don't you?

I am loving the fact that I am going to have a white Christmas this year. It just sets the stage for the right holiday mood - can't wait!

Someone at work sent me and my department this cartoon clip. While, some thought that it may have tested the waters and got me offended, I thought it was just absolutely witty and hilarious. This sort of creative thinking should be appreciated and chuckled at, like it was intended to do, and not looked down upon. It sure made me laugh for a few seconds.

While waiting in line to check out my groceries at Walmart, I see this on the front page of the newspaper at the register.
Interesting, is it not?

Yesterday, I went to lunch with a few of my co-workers at Mei Mei Chinese Buffet. The food was really good. The fried rice was cooked perfectly and it hit the spot. Today, one of my friends that I went with, sent me this article from CBS News which states:
...Mei-Mei's Chinese Buffet in Dallas [10455 N. Central Expressway] recently failed a routine food inspection. They scored 67 out of 100.
The inspector found:
• An employee wiping his nose and not washing his hands
• Employees handling salad and fruit items with their bare hands
• Crab meat at potentially hazardous temperatures
We went to Mei-Mei's for a visit. Right away we found these potential code violations:
• Bags of shrimp defrosting at room temperature and dripping on the floor
• Raw spareribs in a container on the floor
• Food boxes were on the freezer floor
• No soap at the hand sink
We asked Ashan Kahn, the Dallas official in charge of the food inspection program, if Mei Mei's Chinese Buffet would pass a city food inspection on the day we visited. "No, I don't think so," he said.
So needless to say, I am not eating there or any other place mentioned on the article. What about you? Any such experiences? Speak away.

Its chilly and windy today. There's some chances of snow or light flakes. Dark red dry leaves are flying around everywhere in the city. Restaurants are full of life with the chiter chatter of everyone around. Malls and shopping centers are packed with people rushing to get their list crossed out; the christmas jingles playing in the background and holding a warm Starbucks chai in a red cup in my hand. The holidays are finally approaching and my mood is festive.

For quite some time now I have been lying to myself (and others) about breaking the habit. I am getting tired of constantly setting dates and timeframes to stop smoking. This is it. I am done. This is going to be REALLY hard, but I have to put an end to it.

So, I recently switched out my Pocket PC for a Motorola Q. Now this is how the phone (and the screen) looked like when I got it.

This is how the screen looks like now.

It's a lame attempt to get the eye-candy of the iPhone, yet you can do so much more than what the iPhone has.
Ah, the limitless world of software development.

How did I ever miss posting this? Jeff Dunham, who is by far, the best ventriloquist out there, had a comedy central stand-up special a month or so ago. I enjoyed every single bit of it. I had watched a few of his videos 5 - 6 years ago, but then I forgot about it completely until he resurfaced on Comedy Central. Among his characters that he introduces to the crowd, I think Peanut is wickedly funny and Walter just rocks!
Here's a couple of videos for your amusement. The first is a compilation of some of his work and the second video is "Ahmed the Dead Terrorist"...absolutely hilarious.
