Crumpled Nothings!

In my quest for good mash-ups, and the utter failure in finding them, I am considering...really considering... to start putting my own mash-ups together. Don't get me wrong. I've found some good ones on the web, but 98% of the ones I find, I don't listen to them more than twice. Yes, I get bored VERY easily!

So having said that, I scoured the net for the best softwares and have narrowed them down to two. If you're into mixing, which one of these would you recommend?

Adobe Audition

OR

Virtual DJ Professional

It didn't get the Number One spot at the 2007 YouTube Video Awards, but it was one of the top 10. It is, the now famous, 'caught on camera' action of the battle at Kruger National Park in South Africa.

The battle REALLY begins at 4:40 into it and will make you go "Ohhh Shiiiit" with your jaw dropped.

Seriously, don't miss the fling action!

The top video of the 2007 YouTube Awards is a baby laughing at ripping pages. While that is cute and all, and keep in mind, I do love kids, I still think the video above should have made it to the Number One spot.

..But apparently, I have a Canadian-American accent (Best version so far).

People from outside North America probably think I'm from the States, but Canadians wouldn`t make such a mistake.

What American accent do you have?

Ha!

This one's for Paresh. You recently mentioned GTA San Andreas in one your posts - How's this for a mod?

Maybe the game gets an extra point on the ratings, eh?

...ALL of it!

Did you just go "huh" with a raised eyebrow? That's what I did too. This sounds crazy, but Ian Usher from Perth, Australia is determined to do so. On June 22nd, he will be auctioning his life on eBay. That's a day before my birthday I might add, but that's of no relevance whatsoever.

This gave me chuckle and I was quick to dismiss it with the word "dumbass". But upon reading his website that he's put up specifically for this purpose, I came to realize that he might just pull it off. He mentions that he recently discovered something awful about his wife (now ex) after spending 12 years with her. He just feels that everything he owns is just a reminder and he wants to get away from it.
He came up with the idea of selling his life away. This includes everything - his house, his jet skis, his car, his job as well as his friends! This will all be sold in a single shot sale, after which he hopes to get on a train with his passport and go anywhere he wants and start fresh. I don't know if this will work for him or not. He's got videos of his lifestyle, images of everything that's part of the sale, the who, why, what, when, where, how and he's also writing a blog documenting his experience with this. Regardless of if this works for him, I have to commend the courage he had to muster up to get this far. His website www.alife4sale.com starts out with this:

"Hi there, my name is Ian Usher, and I have had enough of my life! I don't want it any more! You can have it if you like!"

Off to measure my life. Last time I checked I was worth a little over $ 2 million.

While looking at properties in the ever-exciting city of Mumbai, here's what I came across. This is the REAL name of the property. Maybe they forgot to think first, or maybe this is the property for those that, you know, swing the other way??

For my non-desi readers - Unless you've already figured out what this means by how this post has been written so far...you're doing great! Otherwise, I could easily translate this for you, but where's the fun in that? You already know what 'Bellissimo' is in Italian.

I have been in Big D 10 years now, but never been to the St. Patrick's Day Parade. Katie called and we decided to go check it out. The only day (that I know of) that Dallas let's you drink publicly - so I had to take advantage of it. What? Wouldn't you? After spending about 6 hours at the parade and getting a mild sunburn, here's the day in pictures - I forgot my camera at home, so all I had was my 1.3MP cell phone camera, so the quality's not all that great:

Ordinary day at work. Usually on Fridays, our team has lunch over "Brown-Bag" sessions - This is basically where someone from the team picks a topic that is technology related, but not necessarily work stuff, and then presents that topic over lunch. It is sort of like a casual tech-talk. We come across impressive stuff, by the way.

Although today, we canceled the Brown-Bag, which meant we could go out and do lunch. Georges suggested Cuban. Hmm, Cuban. I have never had Cuban before. In fact, I haven't had Carribean food before. I agreed.

An hour later, we were sitting at the patio of La Cubanita Restaurant. This is located smack in the middle of uptown Dallas. It was a little chilly, but sunny outside. It was actually beautiful considering that the weather sucked the night before. The heat lamps were burning, so that was good.

The building was colored pastel yellow and blue. And the ceramic tiled patio had this retro pattern. Felt like I was in somewhere in the Havana on vacation. But the main part about this post: The food - Excellent!

The servers are dressed very casually with their shirts untucked to give off the Havana vibe. Our server comes up to me and asks if we would like any beer or maragaritas. We quickly let him know we can't coz we have to go back to work. Then in his Cuban accent (probably practiced), says "I can get you a virgin Mojito". Hells Yeah!!

I get myself an order of "Churrasco de Pollo" (Grilled Marinated Chicken). It comes with pickled red onions, Cuban guacamole and mojo. Here's the thing about mojo - it sort of looked like green chutney, but wasn't. It was topped on the grilled chicken and it tasted goooood.

The dish also comes with Yucca fries, which are a made from yucca root, peeled and cut into 2 " X 1/2-inch fry sticks. If you go to a Cuban restaurant, get the Yucca fries. You would LOVE them.

I will absolutely go there again. This place rocks. I took some pictures with my cell phone, so they are poor quality - apologize for that.

Things have been quiet. There's really not much going on, so there's nothing to post about. It was Tams birthday yesterday - should have taken a trip there again. Would have been fun - drink a few "Thums Up" (maybe with some liquor in it).

I have been following the election, and as much as I really want Obama to win, I think Hillary's gonna get the democratic nomination. She's so evil. I can say a lot more, but I am just not in the mood to talk politics. I don't think you wanna read about that either, otherwise, you'd be on CNN.

So I'll leave this post with something that I am looking forward to. I have mentioned on my blog before that if Pacino and Big B got together on the big screen, that would be a dream come true - but that's not happening (yet)! I have always been a fan of The Godfather. I have probably watched it over 40 times, whenever it plays on TV. I have the DVDs too. Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino. Man, that's a great combo, isn't it? Years after The Godfather, we get to see them in Heat, which was again, a superb action packed film. Then today, I came across "Righteous Kill" - good preview. Lovin' DeNiro's acting a little more, but that's just the preview. Why the hell is 50 Cent in this movie? I have no idea. Take a look.

In an interesting move, Google's top executive, Sheryl Sandberg, starts her new job on March 24th as COO of Facebook.

No really. It's true. Forbes said so.

What just happened here? I thought that Facebook will succumb to the giant sooner or later. So is this a move to infiltrate from within? You know, to get Facebook ready to be sold to Google. I don't know. But interesting it is.

Seriously speaking though, Sandberg was an Adwords guru at Google. I am assuming she will be assisting Facebook with just that logic. To increase its revenue with better ad positioning for the 66 million leeches, such as myself, that didn't pay a dime to get an account there.

This sketch was aired on SNL this past Saturday. I didn't watch it on TV, but one of my co-workers mentioned it was really funny. I looked it up and couldn't stop laughing. I really loved the Bill Clinton impressions he could do, but Darrell Hammond does a mean Tim Russert and Amy Poehler nails Hillary (especially if you've watched the debates in the past couple of weeks). Here is the tickle:

Thanks Jarrod.

Everyone has probably seen that Budweiser commercial with the catchy beats playing in the background...See, I know it's playing in your head right now, isn't it?

On Wednesday last week, Sayeed and I were watching the box and this ad came on. I told Sayeed that every time it plays, I think about googling it and downloading the tune, but I always forget to do that.

So, on Friday, he sent me the link to this, and I couldn't be happier. Another tune caught and loaded in my MP3 repository. In case, you still don't know what the hell I am talking about, then here's "Galvanize" by Chemical Brothers.
