Crumpled Nothings!

I'm back! I didn't post for a while, and then for the last couple of months thought it'd probably be a good idea to switch to a new template. I thought I'd block the blog to the public, since no updates have been made anyway, and then open up access again once the design tweaks were done. Well, as you can see - that failed.

I got tired of tweaking the new template that I want, and when I fix one thing, another needs tweaking...plus, actually making the time to play 'coder' is not my ideal evening. Add to that mix, the distraction of facebook, twitter, mindless net surfing, TV-time and happy hours with friends. CN didn't just take the back-seat. It was shoved in the trunk wrapped with newspaper. Out of sight, out of mind.

I decided to keep this design for now. Yes, it's classic, but it's still clean, and minimal.

Moving on...a quick recap since September.

- Visited Vikas, Priti D, Diya & Simi in Jersey while I had to go up to Princeton for work. It was quick, but fun. I had a great time with the kids.

*Priti D - love what you've done with the house. You've probably done a lot more now. Another visit coming up!*

While I was there, a quick NYC visit (but of course!), and I mean quick - like 4 hours. Walked through (and worked for a bit) from Central Park. It was a gorgeous day, and sitting there on the bench by the pond felt good. I wish I could work from there everyday. Overreaching here.

- Lost my DL. Got it later. Not a fun story. Want to forget.

- Dad was here!! He decided to come to the US for a short trip, and it was incredible seeing my old man after 4 years. He's the real Superman, you know. Still working hard, still going strong, and refuses to rest. He wanted to surprise Tams, so I went to Minneapolis, picked him up from the airport, and surprised the hell out of her. Naturally, a tear-jerker moment for her. As usual, good times are always around when you are with Pari and Tams. I had fun. Chill, relax and played some Tiger Woods on Wii! We spent a week there for Diwali, then Dad and I came back to Dallas and he spent another week here. I wished it would have been longer. Two weeks (and one week for Tams) doesn't do justice to 4 years apart from family. That is the suck. Hopefully, will be seeing more of them starting 2010, when Cookie graduates High school.

I also wish I could have had my place furnished when he was here. I just moved in to the new apartment, and before I could do anything, I had to go to MSP, and then back. But oh well, I get to be with Dad after such a long time - that's what counts. Miss him and the family now.

- The return of 'The Sinhas': Priti D and the twins paid a quick visit to Dallas for a weekend. Stayed over at Vini's place. We pretty much ate out quite a bit, and had fun with the kids, who were hell bent on making sure I got my butt up early in the morning - early for me at least! I think Priti D is probably the only family member who's seen the new apartment...but when it was bare walls.

- New Years' was the bomb! 'Nuff said.

- In the last quarter, not a whole lot had been going on. I've pretty much been back and forth between work and home, out with friends during the weekends...and busy setting up the apartment. Living room's almost done. All it needs now is a flat screen TV and some artwork. Pretty soon here, the place could turn into the HQ for friends to hang out. We'll see how that turns out.

That's all for now folks.

BTW, another tab going up for Twitter. So go on, twitter me bad. I already have friends. I need followers...That's where it's at!
